The San Isabel National Forrest is one of 11 in Colorado. Elevations range from 5860 to 14,433. It is a great place to camp, hike, hunt, ride, or fish. Lake Isabel, Lake Beckwith, and many streams, and rivers are found here. Trinidad Lake, Pueblo Reservoir and the Arkansas River are close by. Bishop’s Castle is a favorite for many to visit. For the hunter, we have big horn sheep, black bear, mountain lion, bob cat, mule deer, elk, wild turkey, pronghorn, coyotes, fox, and many game birds. For Equestrian or the horse person there are plenty of trails in the San Isabel National Forrest, lots of open spaces to ride, horse shows, roping, and clubs. Golfers will like playing at Holly Dot in Colorado City, and the many other course’s that are within 30 -60minutes away.
Education
Schools in the area are located in District 70, the largest geographic school district in Colorado, with over 8,000 students from all of Pueblo County. Here the students excel in both academics and athletics.
Colorado State University - Pueblo, Colorado Technical University, and Pueblo Community College are a few of the college and universities near here.
Property in this friendly area is considered by many as under-valued at this time compared to cities nearby.
